President Hinckley's Funeral

On Saturday I got to go to President Hinckley's funeral. The entire thing was very spiritual, but I was especially moved by the part at the end where they showed moments from President Hinckley's life, including when he visited soldiers in the army and when he went around the world dedicating temples.

I loved listening to the songs that he wrote, and hearing the Tabernacle Choir singing them.

Something I remember about President Hinckley was his quick wit and humor. I enjoyed the story that was told at the funeral of how he stubbornly refused to acknowledge his old age. As the President said to his bodyguard, "You take the elevator....I'm taking the stairs!"

I will miss President Hinckley, but I will honor his memory in the best ways I can.
