I attended youth conference from the eleventh to the thirteenth of June.
We set out for St. George, Utah on the eleventh. As could have been expected, it was an extremely engaging, intellectually stimulating, and exciting road trip. All three hours of it.
We actually got to stay in hotels throughout the whole thing, which made me feel spoiled. (Not to mention the outback pool we had!) We were assigned roommates, which was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. After we got all moved in, we took a tour of the nearby Dixie State College (which was nearly as exciting as the road trip, if you get my drift). We also went to see a play at the Tuacahn, called Footloose. The dancing was great, the singing decent, but the whole story's morals were a bit questionable. Also, there was quite a bit of swearing.
The next day were temple baptisms and a hike up the Narrows. The temple was a bit hectic (the temple workers seemed a bit out of sorts, and kept contradicting each other). The Narrows were extremely fun. For those of you not familiar with the Narrows, they consist of a long, 18 mile river inside a canyon that starts out at both of its mouths at about 20 feet and then eventually narrows down to about 6 feet. It was extremely fun to hike against the current, though it did strain my bad leg.
The third and final day consisted of youth speaker and a testimony meeting, followed by the trip home.
