The Illzhumov Board

After I finish Toran Nott and the Sight (which is very close to done, by the way), I'm planning to write another book, called The Illzhumov Board. 

The Illzhumov Board is a chess / thriller-spy novel.  I know that sounds nerdy, but hear me out.

It takes place in the late 1980s, when the Soviet Union still reigned supreme.  A chess Grandmaster named Alexsandr Illzhumov defects from the Union, and is suspected by the KGB to be carrying Soviet secrets in his custom chess board.  Illzhumov settles in the USA and hides from the KGB. 

That's the basic premise of the book, though I'm still working on the plot details.
